The Prince William Chorale was organized in 1994 as a reorganization of the Manassas Choral Society (MCS). The MCS was originally establised in 1968 by a group of singers from a number of various local church choirs who wanted to expand their public musical performances to both sacred and secular music. Under 5 different directors between 1968 and 1994, the MCS thrived and expanded to put on well-received public and private performances, expanding in the 1970's to include the production of a major Broadway play each Summer for the enjoyment of Prince William County area audiences.
In 1994, the MCS decided to move to a Board of Directors organization structure partially composed of non-members to address the business aspects of the organization, and as part of that reorganization, the name was changed to the Prince William Chorale.
The Mission of the Prince William Chorale:
Our goal is to create an audition-only Soprano/Alto/Tenor/Bass (SATB) Chorale with a 32-member target maximum consisting of up to 8 capable and enthusiastic quality singers per voice part. We seek to perform interesting and challenging music at professional-quality levels to entertain and delight our audiences.
The Chorale extends an open invitation to talented singing members in our area, from teen-aged to retired, to join us on Tuesday nights from 7 PM- 8:30 PM to see if you might be interested in joining the Chorale.
We rehearse in facilities generously made available to us by the New Hope Christian Church (non-denominational) at 8310 Plantation Lane, Manassas, VA. Our Director, Saralee Fassett, looks forward to meeting you and answering any questions you may have about our group
If you have questions now, contact Bob, PW Chorale Operations Director, at 703-368-4997.
